---Our Story

Community at the Heart

1986 The Birth of United Christian Church: In 1986, a small group of around 25 Indian-Pakistani families in Garland and the greater Dallas area envisioned a church that would serve Indian-Pakistani Christians and support mission work in India and Pakistan. This vision came to life in September 1986, creating a close-knit home church named United Christian Church in Garland, Texas. The church was officially registered with the State of Texas on December 12, 1986.

1989 A Home of Their Own: The growing church purchased and renovated an old school building at 820 West Miller Road, Garland, Texas. By the end of summer, the renovation was complete, marking a significant milestone. News of this new Indian-Pakistani church in the Dallas area spread, drawing in additional families and rapidly increasing the congregation to about 120 members across thirty-five families.

1998 New Beginnings: The church purchased two acres of land on Beltline Road in Garland, Texas, and successfully paid off the property by 2001.

2003 A New Church Building: In November 2003, the congregation celebrated the completion of a new church building, with a dedication ceremony held in December.

2005 Expanding for All Ages: Recognizing the need for more space for children and young adults, the church constructed a fellowship hall/gymnasium in 2005. This multi-purpose building serves as a venue for celebrations, Vacation Bible School classes, and sports activities like volleyball and basketball.

2007 Playground for Young Children: A playground was added for children ages 2–12.

2009 Bible Training for Pastors and Leaders: The church began offering Bible Training Center courses, which were later extended on mission trips to India. The first class of pastors and leaders graduated in 2014.

2017 Growing Education Facilities and Youth Programs: Construction began in 2016 on a new Education Wing connected to the Sanctuary, featuring six classrooms for Vacation Bible School and nursery use. The same year, the church launched the AWANA Kids & Youth Program, further strengthening its commitment to nurturing young faith.
